Today’s prompt is to share your thoughts on the quality and skill of “ownership.” How might embodying ownership support your process.

    • Ownership is the difference between living my life at the effect of what happens to me (victim) vs living my life at cause (creator). If I lack ownership for anything in my experience, it means I’m living in victim consciousness in the belief that life is happening to me rather than for me.

      • Great explanation! And now…continuing to live it! That is our work. The constant in and out of victim versus creator. The intention is to live more from the creator than the victim.

    • I think for me ownership is a balance of accountability and responsibilty for my actions but without going so far as to judge and beat myself up which I tend to do. Yesterday I was feeling overwhelmed around building a spiritual practice because even though I’ve done some things related to spiritual connection it’s never been super intentional. So I got overwhelmed thinking it had to look a certain way but then this morning I looked at it differently and decided I like meditating and I can just do what works for me, so I felt like I owned the process by deciding to set a timer for 3 minutes and sit and breathe and connect to myself.

      • Love this! You listened to yourself and realized that it can look how you want it to look. Find what feels good to you and do more of that so you can start experiencing your being versus your doing:) Great process Jane!

    • I like what both Jane and Wed shared. When I’m taking ownership, I am coming at things with a positive perspective and also being present. When I’m not being accountable, I tend to play victim, and I’m only now starting to see which of my thoughts and behaviors are really me playing the role of victim. A lack ownership on my part shows up as pure ego, so taking ownership means being more humble.

      • Beautiful. I love the creator versus victim check-in because it supports us in being aware of our own process. When we are aware, we can choose something different. When we are unconscious, we can’t change it. I love that creator, accountability, ownership all support you in being more humble. That’s a great find!
