I still need to come up with a 3 foot toss around social dimension. Always with the kids on days off which puts some restrictions on what I can do even if I wanted to interact with anyone in person. Most of my social interactions are online with supportive people. Need to think of something that stretches me.
Let’s work with the restriction (if it really is one anyone) of having the kids while your wife is working or on days off together. You could do something social that includes the kids. I know you’ve mentioned before going to the park so perhaps you could invite someone to meet you there and maybe all the kids play together. Or you do a small gathering at the park so that kids can play and adults can connect. Get creative here! Make it work:)
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll stay open to these possibilities. I actually did initiate a playdate for my daughter with a classmate where I took the kids to the park a few days ago but the only adult interaction I had was about half an hour with the mother of the child when she picked her up. Still it was something I was uncomfortable with and the time I spent talking with her mother I felt comfortable and non judgmental of myself.
