Hi, Beth here. I too am happy to be here. This quote reminds me of the beginning of my journey a little over 18 mos ago:
    A single event
    can awaken within us
a stranger totally unknown to us.
    Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944)
My “single event” led me to quit drinking for good……FINALLY……. I went to treatment facility and began down my path of sobriety (again). I began a journey of beginning to get to know myself, a self that was a stranger to me my whole life. TODAY I celebrate not only 18 months of (continuous) sobriety but also a of self-discovery. After a few years of attempting to get sober with AA and various online programs, I ended up going to inpatient treatment. For some reason, I needed additional tools… to get away from it all for 6 weeks. I was blessed to have been able to “unplug” from life in the real world. Since then I have been going to AA and am in a professional monitoring program which consists of weekly group meeting and random blood and urine tests. I love my weekly group meetings but no longer feel that I am growing in “the rooms”. I came upon Bev’s blogs and videos and am excited to be part of this program. I want to be part of a program of likeminded people in recovery who are interested in not only personal growth but also in helping others obtain their highest potential as well.

    • I can not express how excited your post made me Elizabeth. I’m devoted to my own continued growth and to the growth of people who want to actualize their own potential. YOU! You are surrounded here by people are looking at themselves, talking about what they are finding and actively working on adjusting to be their best Self. You are on such a beautiful journey of self-discovery. I so relate. I’m looking forward to journeying with you.

    • Welcome, love that quote! This current leg of my journey started with the passing of my father… boom everything changed and is changing, I totally get it!
