    1. Identify an area of unfinished business you would like to complete.

I am enthusiastically resolving the story in my mind and updating and reframing it so its in alignment with the truth of who I am today in my life.  I found a quote from a book called Embers by Richard Wagamese that beautifully captures my intention behind resolving this.  “I realize again that darkness doesn’t kill the light – it defines it.  I believe that now.  For years, I didn’t.  I believed that I was my failures, mistakes, misjudgments, shortcomings and wrongs.  But I’m not those things.  I’m the light that shines from my faith, my courage, my willingness to be vulnerable and to be responsible and accountable.  Moments of darkness only highlight that truth these days.  I’m moving beyond shame.  I’m basking in the light of my own recovery and the brilliance that comes from allowing myself to be seen as I am, warts and all.  I’m not just those warts either – I’m the frog who wears them, gradually becoming a prince.”  This quote so perfectly encapsulates the process of resolving my old story and appreciating the light I’ve been living in.

    • Great quote!

    • I love this quote too! I feel like that’s so true, that we identify as being the warts, rather than the frog wearing them. And then going a step further to see that the frog wearing the warts is the prince, regardless of how he appears to others. They are one in the same. Beautiful!

    • Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

    • Glad you liked it. The book is full of pages with passages like this one. And its an easy, quick read. The line that begins “I’m basking in the light of my own recovery…” is probably my favorite. I love the imagery of the light as well as the theme of recovery of self as spirit, or recovery of my true self (just a personal interpretation).
