Accountability check-in…self-care this week has looked like:
-buying a new coffee to savor and try on a cold Saturday
-lighting a candle and listening to a song to remember a friend I lost and have been missing a lot lately (I swear I felt her hand on my shoulder)
-Sitting in the dark and listening to a short guided meditation
Thanks for helping…[Read more]-
This is fantastic. I love hearing the different way you are supporting yourself and are supported.

Beautiful. Even reading this made my body melt down into my chair. It’s the small things and your expression is reminding me of this… Thank you!

Sweet movements toward yourself. You had me at coffee. 🙂
Glad to witness your process, its a gift. -
Great job, Jane. Very happy to read you are practicing your self-care.

I woke up on Sunday missing my daughter who lives in Nicaragua. She called within 5 minutes which was a surprise. We had such a fun time sharing what we did for ourselves for Happy Galentines Day. Really it’s about not waiting for someone else to do something for you (which can be a blessing) but taking the power back for self care. We both had m…[Read more]

Acknowledging you for listening to your ‘no’ and voicing it even when it makes someone else uncomfortable. I’ve been noticing how things unfold sometimes at a different pace then my mind may expect or want. I’ve been leaning into spirit more, letting go to the attachment that I may know the timeline of grace. I know you to be really good at making…[Read more]

Thanks Bev.
I am feeling the “vault” within that is containing things like peace and self love. I was scared to admit that I chose the word abundance for the year…….. but now I am experiencing this energy in a whole new realm that is the felt within me. What a surprise. Continuing to do my work but also letting go of all the little sto…[Read more]

I love that on the last call Bev pointed out my uplevel in self care could be just committing to one small thing everyday rather than a walk specifically. Because it really is about me keeping a promise to myself everyday and learning to trust myself. And accepting loving toward myself. So Tues I went for a walk and felt great. It was just what I…[Read more]

I LOVE this! “Tuning in” sounds really important for you. Listening to yourself, trusting the guidance, following through, believing in yourself. HUGE and wonderful lessons!

That’s great, Jane. I totally get it!

Thank you for an amazing call yesterday. If you missed it, please share your insights and learnings with us when you listen to the replay. It was a profound call. I left feeling especially connected. Lots of great insights coming in for all of us. I love that we share in a sisterhood and brotherhood of inner wisdom.
-
Thank you Bev for your compassionate leadership and showing up so authentic. You make it easy for us to be in this beautiful circle just the way we are with what we are experiencing. It is a gift and you are a gift to the many.
-
Totally agree Tami

This will be a call I go back to more than once I’m sure.

I always feel so connected after spending time with you Bev!! And with everyone else it seems. I can process so much more effectively when in a safe, encouraging container such as the one you have set up here. I am so thankful for it and not entirely sure why I haven’t been here more. That is going to change. I commit to coming to the Table…[Read more]

Grateful to be on the call. I will be processing the questions. I stepped out of my comfort zone by posting a video today. On to the next 3 foot toss. 🙂
-
That call was profoundly helpful, glad to be on there with you Tami. I feel more centered and more direction on the work I need to do and yet more compassion toward my process too. Congrats on posting the video, I went for my first walk…onward we go 🙂

Great job Jane!

Thanks Jane, So glad to be with you on the call. I was thinking today about what if my love is redirected to “what I love” not who loves me. For some reason it has upped my peace and cleared my thought processes. I am glad to hear about your self compassion. Good for your follow through and taking the next step or 3 foot toss! Thank you for all the bday love. I’m basking in appreciation today. Actualizing has been really important to me and my soul. I’m happy to say I’m where I want to be in life. I’m also happy to say that I still have some goals I’m working towards. I’ve got some business goals I would like to have in place by the time I’m 40. And Richard and I have…[Read more]

I went to a Vinyasa yoga class this week and am very happy to have added yoga to my activities that I do as part of my self care. I feel it really helps to connect my body and mind. The breathing focus ties into meditation, which I feel has been a key factor into understanding myself better. I also did one yoga video on my own., That was short of…[Read more]

I was able to take my sister out for breakfast and tea today for her birthday. It felt really good to be present to my sis. I gave her a deck of cards and we pulled cards during breakfast. It was fun and created a great conversation that was deep and connected. I keep pulling a meditation card that says to listen for guidance in the silence. I will follow.
-
That’s one of the best feelings I’ve received from sobriety, being able to be present for people I care about. Sounds like it was a lovely breakfast.
-
It really was a great breakfast. My sister is 13 years older than me and it’s so amazing how much growth I’ve had in the last 11 years. We have such a different relationship now that I am older and living substance-free.
-
-
I love being able to be in the present moment when I am with family and friends. Sounds like a beautiful time with your sister!

Great webinar Bev. I’m setting my 3 foot toss for this month to lose 2.5 pounds and drink 75 Oz of water per day. I’ll be tracking my food, activity and weight in the weight Watchers app and logging my water intake and counting steps with my fitbit app. This will help me hit my goal well ahead of my November wedding.
-
Congrats on the wedding. You’ve got some great support and accountability in place through your apps and wedding. How can you use the Lab for support this month?
-
Awesome Stephanie! I just joined WW a couple of weeks ago. I find being part of a program is motivating for me. I love the app – tracking my food and activity. I am looking forward to shedding 30lbs over the course of the next year. I”ve done it before, but it came back on without the accountability and tracking. Looking forward to your…[Read more]

Hi Everyone. I am new to the Recovery Life Lab. I am 6 years in recovery from alcohol use. I used alcohol to cope with grief from losing my husband. Once I became sober, I had to deal with the grief in early recovery. I found that aftercare is seriously lacking for people after treatment. For that reason, as well as many others, I took a…[Read more]

I love the work you are doing Roxane. Having worked in treatment, we only scratch the surface of loss and grief people have experienced in life that lead to substance use. Creating some type of program or package for those needing to continue that work would be incredible. You could even partner with treatment facilities, sober livings,…[Read more]

Today’s prompt: Name 3 people dead or alive that you have always been pulled towards as leaders and share why?

Einstein for relentless pursuit of the truth with an open mind and willingness to be wrong. For him, science and spirituality weren’t mutually exclusive and I consider him a pioneer in awakening consciousnesses. Gandhi for his peaceful, nonviolent resistance to unjust laws and to British rule. He was quite literally the change he wanted to se…[Read more]
