Just listened to your beautiful message and love everything you are saying!! I work in the criminal justice field and every time I read a media story about something caught impaired driving or on some drug related charge I can instantly see the little “boy” or “girl” and feel that loving essence. We are all journeying as you say – everyone is…[Read more]

    • Love hearing that you will take Seeing the Loving Essence into the Board Room. I, too, wish others can experience the Loving Essence. They can…by you seeing it, by you being it and by you sharing about it. We get to spread love, joy and compassion through our own recovery process. It’s remarkable. Personally, I don’t see life as a battle. I see…[Read more]

Ouch! This hit me a bit. Great thought pattern. Making me think too. What am I avoiding??!!

    • Yes, when it bumps into something, it means there is something to be learned here. So what might you be avoiding?

      • Another great question. As I meditate on this I am thinking perhaps reality and the issues that I don’t have full control over. If I keep myself busy enough – running from distraction to distraction I won’t have to face the elephant in my life? 🙂 Got me thinking…

        • Acknowledging you for being willing to look. Just get curious. Drop any judgment about yourself. So what’s the elephant that needs to be acknowledged and called out?

  • Hi Bev – When I clicked on the May tab I don’t see anything related to Week 1. Just making sure I am not missing anything? Thank you!

This is something I am learning. I often have to pause and remind myself, but when I do it makes such a difference in my outlook and my attitude. I hang onto my peace and sanity when I can do that. My goal is to do it more 🙂

    • Beautiful. As humans, we will never be perfect at this nor do we need to strive for that. However, it is great to live more peacefully. I have found the more peace I choose, the less I am bothered by things. It’s like my spirit knows better than to get upset at something that doesn’t serve me. I’m not willing to play that game anymore. I am…[Read more]

Hi everyone – I just wanted to share some news!! I was offered a new job last week and am very excited as a result. One thing I needed to let go was my current employment. It had potential to threaten my recovery as some things were getting out of hand. It was time for me to move on and the universe presented me with an open door and I gladly…[Read more]

Forgot that part! The inner clutter I am clearing is chaos, confusion and apprehension. I am also hoping to open my creativity channels to move forward with some projects that are burning in my soul.

    • Yes, so you are intending to create and express some very special projects that are burning in your soul! And chaos, confusion and apprehension get in the way. I’m so looking forward to us clearing these misunderstandings so that you can shine your light brightly.

I have finally completed Week 2. Three things I am going to work on this month with respect to clearing external clutter: 1. I will purchase binders and insert all of my various course work (I am working on a few different courses right now and it seems paper is in piles all around me); 2. I will organize my home office; 3. I will complete a…[Read more]

    • Great list. I’m curious about the inner clutter. You provided things you will do to clear the inner clutter. What is the inner clutter that needs to be cleared? So what do those activities help you do?

This is exactly why I never think – poor me! I am thankful for all of my experiences to date. As a result – I get to do this deep inner work. I cannot imagine my life without it. It is truly a blessing to be living a life where I am aware of the inner work that needs to be done and have enough courage to go in and do it. Life in recovery is…[Read more]

    • Such a great perspective and attitude. I, too, adopt a perspective of gratitude that I get to do this work and grow spiritually. It helps so much to look for the learning than strengthen my ego and victimhood.

Congrats again Bev!!! What an accomplishment!! With respect to my recovery, I am thankful for that early knowledge of addressing my recovery in a holistic way – mind, body, spirit. Those early experiences allow me a safe place to return to when I feel a certain part on my wellness wheel slipping away. For example – I remember cycling/spin…[Read more]

When you reference filing the inner void – SHOPPING for clothes comes to mind for me. Once a major issue for me, I have tamed it quite a bit over the past few months. I have enough! I am enough! Thanks for sharing Jane. Your comments stirred me up a bit too 🙂

For me it is making space for me to think and be creative! When surrounded by clutter I have a hard time to seeing the trees for the forest. I feel defeated before I begin anything. I find that my recovery journey is always evolving, new things, concepts, ideas, books, etc. come into my life. Clearing the old, inside and out, allows me to…[Read more]

I am learning to do this on a daily basis. I have scheduled a meditation time first thing when I get to my office – half hour of meditation, centering and getting myself spiritually set for the day. I try to do this first before I speak to anyone 🙂 Puts me in the right frame of mind. Now – I have to schedule time in the middle of the day to…[Read more]

    • Totally relate to starting with practice in the morning and seeing the benefits throughout the day. Also, love the idea of recentering throughout the day.

I would love to do my meditation in the mornings. I now it’s an excuse but I just cant find the time to wake up early to meditate before work. I do work at a very early hour, so I am not beating myself up over it. But I do enjoy it on my days off. I find meditation and just taking a few deep breathes to be very helpful in my entire process.
