I finally did something for me to help this major depression and anxiety I’m going through. I decided to go to a peer run respite for 5 days. It is really going to be beneficial I believe. I just honestly needed a break or I know I would have ended up in the hospital or something.

    • That is wonderful! I find retreats to be so helpful. I attended a one day retreat last Saturday and even though one day it was very rejuvenating! Enjoy 5 days! I am jealous! Keep us posted!

    • Miranda, I hope the 5 day peer run respite helps. I don’t know exactly what the depression and anxiety feels like to to you, but I suffer from bouts of it myself. It can be most debilitating. I am glad you are paying attention to what you need and taking care of yourself. I would like to hear about the respite when you return. Take care and remember your loving essence. <3

    • I’m so glad you listened to what you needed, looked for the support and are going to the respite Miranda. Way to go dear! Though we all experience depression and anxiety differently, I have been there too. That’s why I have a daily practice so that I can stay proactive about my anxiety. I notice when I’m not eating as well, exercising or doing exercises for my mind that I can start to experience negative thinking and anxiety. We are here for you and want to know how you are doing so keep us posted.

      • This experience has been great. The staff are absolutely amazing!! Just being able to escape reality and relax was a so much better option than what I wanted to do which was escape life. I’m so glad I came. They have reminded me to use healthy coping skills I threw out the window a while ago. I have even been meditating again. If it wasn’t for my cat who I miss like crazy I wouldn’t want to go home tomorrow. Best choice I’ve made in a long time.

    • Good for you for taking care of yourself! Hope you get some relief!

    • Glad to hear that this helped you out! It is nice to refocus and have some help every now and then!
