Welcome to all of our new members. The Lab is a safe place to share anything. My recovery has completely transformed me! I have done a lot of work. I have discovered the real problem, the reason I began drinking. I do not have to drink to numb my feelings.Recovery has also given me a purpose on this earth. I never felt like I had a purpose, that I was not good enough to do anything right. That is gone now! My HP and the universe led me to my purpose, to be a recovery coach. Helping others brings me joy and reinforces my true purpose – working with women who have the disease of addiction and have children of any age with or without addiction. I was a mother who drank while raising children. As my children got older my drinking increased. I made many mistakes that I now look at as learning experiences. The only way to make amends to them is to be the best role model I can be. And that is why I want to help other mothers! I volunteer at a women”s transitional house. I spent an hour today with one of the ladies, coaching her. She is in recovery and has 4 kids who were taken from her 16 years ago. She is now working to repair relationships. I am her go to. I successfully coached her! It is so rewarding, a magical feeling! I have my purpose and this brings me True Joy! (Sorry this is so long. It just flowed out of me….)

    • That’s so great! We can never change our past, but we can learn from it and help others to not make the same ones we have made. I am happy you have found your calling!

    • Loved hearing your experience with this person Jennifer. As a child of an alcoholic who passed away from his drinking, I always say the greatest gift you can give your children is a sober, present and loving parent. I’m so happy you’ve found a calling that support your soul and the soul of other beings!
