Hi Everyone…I am catching up in the lab tonight. Been listening to some of the videos Bev has sent through emails and now on to listening to the 1st September call again. So, for the next 3 months I’m committing to a practice of Focus Time, Connecting Time, and Time In. One of the goals I really need to keep working on is my physical health and weight loss. I also need to focus on the goal of getting a new job, which is a change I have been desiring in my life. Connecting time is something that I just do NOT like…lol. So, I put it in there because I know I need it. At first I wasn’t going to put Time In, but I think I do need to spend some time in reflection and buckle down a bit more on my mindfulness practice.

As far as the 3-5 skills I need to develop…

    1) Listening and allowing others to speak without interruption on my part. Listening without formulating my response.

    2) Trying…and it’s a try with a capital T…to not one-up in conversations. I see it as relating, but I know it’s not seen as that in a social setting, so I am trying to just let someone tell their story without sharing one of my own.

    3) I would like to work on greeting my co-workers in the morning. I know this is very important to them. It’s not something that is important to me, so it takes a lot of effort on my part.

    • This is fantastic. Thank you! I want us to start working on a plan of action around your goals so that you can already begin now and feel strong as you move into 2019. We mostly wait to begin when we can begin now. Let’s get preparation done and start taking small action towards this so we can course-correct and be in ownership as the new year begins. I took note on your skills so that I can offer support in these areas. Thank you for engaging this process. Your attention and awareness will pay off.

    • Thank you Karen for sharing. Being new in the Lab and to this new way of thinking, being, I appreciate seeing your experience.

    • I definitely could work on the #1 & 2 skills too, listening and not one-upping or feeling the need to share a similar story (is that what I’m doing here lol?)!!
