What’s been most helpful to me is the safety that is found here. Not once have I felt judged, or belittled, or lied to. Cannot say the same for the 12 step rooms I’ve visited, unfortunately. This is a very safe space and those who are here are serious about their recovery and I have not noticed any other intentions. It’s been wonderful.

Awesome. I’ve been trying new tea as well, and the elliptical machine. Two new things for me. Love that tea is like a hug in a cup.

Wow. Amazing call. So many great tips for our daily interactions. For me, I’ve found my interactions have changed in many ways since I’ve let go of the need to be liked, or like I have to prove something or convince someone. Walking into every interaction knowing I am loved and with no need to hustle for my worthiness has made things much bet…[Read more]

Overall, feeling okay. Still on track with my goals and intentions. Experiencing some anxiety and finding myself wanting to be home and avoid social interactions. This has always been who I am, however, so I don’t completely see it as a bad thing, but it starts to get tricky if I start avoiding important things like work, appts, etc. Not a…[Read more]

Wow, so cool! That is something I’ve been wanting to do, but I’m terrified. Thank you for sharing your positive experience.

Thanks Karen 🙂 I got involved through a mutual friend helping with a specific event, and then they kept inviting me back for meetings and stuff and I just helped where I could. I definitely felt nervous and anxious in the beginning but I’m glad I kept going and trying and I found I could connect with a couple of the people one on one. It helps…[Read more]

“The sweetness of this new moon is pairing the old woman with the purity and faith of a child. A wise one with a new infusion of faith and hope. I told a friend the other day, I am a possibilitarian. Seeing beyond what I have been conditioned.
The root meaning of the word possible is “capable of making things happen’.”Tami, that is absolut…[Read more]

Jane, I can totally relate. For me, it feels like I tend to put people in a position they shouldn’t be in. You know? It’s been helpful for me to stop and put those people back into their rightful place, as an imperfect human like me, not my judge and jury. That way if those people start to judge me, I can say, “Hey! Wait a minute! I’m n…[Read more]

I intend to own my words this week. I’ve had a challenging two weeks at work and am starting to understand more the impact of my words. I really need to own what I am saying…even if it’s something I shouldn’t have said.
-
I feel ya Karen, hope you have a good week!
-
Karen, I love your intention and ownering what you want to flow through you will. Supporting and cheering you on. I was chuckling this morning as I wrote out my focus areas for the week. I realized I was “telling on myself” in areas that I am ready to change. It’s a good thing to aware and awake to new ways of being.

Sorry in advance for the excessive posting, but wanted to say after being home with the flu and having a fever two nights in a row, how absolutely glorious it was to really let myself feel the warmth of a really good, hot shower, washing my hair well and conditioning, and brushing my teeth…especially my teeth! I stood there at the sink, even…[Read more]

That’s awesome, Jane. I’ve had similar situations at work lately, and it just feels like when I condemn myself that I am less productive. I’ve been practicing the make amends, do better, move on with awareness type of thing. What keeps me stuck sometimes is how other people receive my amends. When they don’t receive it well, I tend to punish…[Read more]

P.S. Read this again and noticed this line: “But the rewards of being true to myself are worth the feelings of being uncomfortable.”. YES! A thousand times yes.

I love this so much, Tami. So much. I can relate. I’ve been doing similar things. I love dressing up now and being pretty in a way that feels authentic to me and for me only. It’s when the true beauty emerges. Beautiful to hear of your progress in all areas. Thank you for sharing. P.S. I SO love my yoga pants!!!

My “screen time” was down 19% last week according to my iPhone report. I’ve been working on reducing it and trying to re-connect more with my family, friends, and co-workers. Feel like these little tools from Apple are so helpful to my recovery. When the message comes, I delight in my progress instead of shaming myself for my mistakes. A huge…[Read more]

Oh my gosh I’ve been embracing those tools lately too! I set the time limit for social media apps and it’s helped me be more mindful of how I spend my time. So glad you can delight in your progress!!
-
Great job finding tools that work for you guys!
-
Great job on awareness. Did you know that you can lock yourself out of your apps after a certain time limit? It sure shuts down mindless scrolling. I am glad you are delighting in your progress and giving yourself credit. Feels like worthiness to me!

Tami, I didn’t know that! Thanks. I will check it out.

That’s wonderful feedback. I think that energy is top down and certainly a reflection of the people in this group who show up for themselves and others in a genuine and caring way. As we move to the FB space, may we keep this intention.
