I chose the course I’m going to complete for my 3ft toss…it’s a free online class I signed up for a while ago “Intro to ink illustration and hand lettering”. I want to share why I picked that one…I had narrowed it down to 3, a web design course I want to take because I want to start a freelance side gig to fund my passion for travel, a class called “finisher’s formula” on finishing what you start and being productive, and then illustration class. I chose not to do the finisher’s formula class because I feel like when I signed up for it it was in attempt to fix myself and I’m starting to believe that I’m not really broken. I realize there’s some irony in not doing the “finisher’s” class but I really don’t think I need someone to teach me what I already know I can do, and I can see a little bit of where my resistance to finishing things comes from now anyway. The web design one I will definitely do in the near future, probably after I finish the illustration one. But when I was deciding between that one and the illustration one I was feeling guilt for wanting to do the illustration one just because it looks fun and interesting but that it didn’t have a productive purpose like the web design one. And I realized that I always feel like everything I do has to have a purpose or be productive in some way, so I decided this time I would allow myself just to have fun and play. So that’s why I chose the Illustration one. That was a long explanation…thanks for listening 🙂

    • Great noticing and honoring of yourself by choosing something more pleasurable. Sounds like a great choice and could even lead to you learning to find more enjoyment in your more “productive” classes.

    • Great explanation. It’s great to hear you are allowing more joy and play in your life. That’s a great way to look at this level!
