I love this quote too! I feel like that’s so true, that we identify as being the warts, rather than the frog wearing them. And then going a step further to see that the frog wearing the warts is the prince, regardless of how he appears to others. They are one in the same. Beautiful!

Wes!! I am blown away. Honestly, reading this made my eyes fill with tears and I felt such a feeling of truth in my body that this feels so in alignment with who you are and my experience of you. The work you have done has inspired me since I’ve known you here. 🙂

I could feel the harshness reading them back to myself, even though as thoughts in my head I don’t recognize that harshness when I’m telling myself these things. But witnessing them outside of myself I felt compassion toward the girl that’s been telling herself these things her whole life. And a desire to be more gentle with myself.

Thank you Tami! I love the Thelma & Louise reference 😀 It is something to externalize the judgements and see them as stories rather than truths. Now to continue that shift. You bring such a level of peace & soothing to this process, glad to be in this with you too.

I admire how you are able to have compassion for your younger self and boundaries for yourself now. It’s crazy what we take on as children because we think we can’t (and can’t in some ways) survive without trying to keep our parents well. I think it’s great. Recovery happens to be the portal that gets many of us to be open and able to do soul work, but that is definitely not the only precursor to healing. Glad to be on this journey with you all.
