How do you know you can trust your perceptions? This came up in the Course In Miracles and find this really interesting. Would love to hear your feedback.

    • Our perceptions are filtered through our own lens which is based on our own individual experiences and learnings of life. So we’ll never perceive the same event or words or actions or whathaveyou in the same way as other people, who in turn will all perceive it differently from us and from one another. So it’s in not trusting my own perception that I’m free to get curious about what it is I’m perceiving and to approach it with beginner’s mind. I also get to relinquish my need to be right about what I’m perceiving so that I’m not attached to it in any way and as such, my belief in my perception doesn’t validate or invalidate my ego because I’m not attached or identified with my perception being “correct”. Its simply an interpretation of a certain set of stimuli based on the lens I see life through that is neither right nor wrong but something to be curious about and to bring awareness and mindfulness to.

    • I love what Wes said. I’ve got nothing more to add. I’m just going with that one. Good stuff. I’m going to save it to read later.
