Funny, I finally listened to the full replay from earlier this month, and what jumped out at me was under Developing Skills: Taking Responsibility…and practicing self-forgiveness and under Practice: Being kind to myself through choices…which totally relates to dealing with my issues with food. And under Presence: Practicing Neutrality jumped out at me which totally relates to boundaries for me. And I remember learning the neutrality tool in the Lab a long time ago. It’s true what you said that we don’t need more tools as much as continually practicing the ones we’ve learned.
I’m so glad you shared this! Wanting to learn more and more tools can actually be a distraction to acknowledging the unresolved issues and using the tools we have. I loved hearing how the pillars lined up with what you are noticing about your process. And I really enjoyed hearing you acknowledge your growth while you notice some areas of opportunity. I find that a very loving and compassionate way to be with yourself Jane!
Thanks Bev! I’m going to make a little reminder list of all of the tools we’ve learned here…self-forgiveness, neutrality, etc and put it on my phone so when I bump into something or notice an unresolved issue I can look at the list and see what tool I need to practice as a way of using self-responsibility. We’ll see what happens 🙂
Right now it’s my marriage. Thankfully, my husband has opened up and let me know the specific issues so we can at least know what we need to work on.
Glad to hear that you know a bit more of what needs your specific attention. I can imagine that’s a relief. Appreciate you sharing!
Food addiction, boundaries with people, but I feel great about a lot of other areas of my life that I’ve worked on and seen growth.
